April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July. She started guitar and piano classes at age seven. She was interested in making music was ignited. April Lockhart wrote her first song, Different at age 12 years old. At 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her singing abilities. Her writing began alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA within a short time. April also began to include different topics related to some of her peers who are dealing with things like bullying by peers and teen suicide in the song"Take my Hand. Lockhart has a partnership with popular clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with her own growing following. Disability is an aspect of her personality, but it's not the entire story. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability through her Instagram page However, she doesn't really place it in the spotlight of it. The point? The message? That we each contain multitudes, that the identities we have and our physical bodies are not all that they seem. Lockhart said via video that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her physical disability. The woman doesn't intend to work as a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are many aspects of Lockhart. My everyday life isn't dependent on it. I go about my regular, everyday life and find my own solutions to issues. Since it's a part of me personally, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon however Lockhart is truly an inspiration regarding this issue. She admits that she has had periods where she was uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. Today, she wears anything she likes and uploads images of her outfits to social media with pride. She says that self-love is a journey. I'm not sure if you'll ever reach the end. This applies to everyone regardless of their level of insecurity. The people you surround yourself by who are truly yours and are able to see inside your heart, are those that will help you remember about the importance of your life.
